Dry-Ice Blasting for Fire Damage

Here at SERVPRO of Park Cities, we have 50+ years experience helping large and small commercial properties recover from fire damage. We have a variety of techniques we employ depending on the building and situation. One of these is referred to as Dry-Ice Blasting (also called CO2 Blasting, or Dry Ice Dusting)
What is Dry Ice Blasting (Cleaning)?
Dry-ice blasting uses compressed air to accelerate frozen carbon dioxide (CO2) "dry ice" pellets in order to create mini-explosions to lift the undesirable item off the underlying substrate. In the case of fire damage, we are blasting away smoke soot, vaporized synthetic resins and char.
What makes this a popular method is that it is environmentally responsible and contains no secondary contaminants. It doesn’t leave behind any substance other than what has been removed which is then vacuumed or swept up. It’s non-abrasive and non-conductive and can be used without damaging active electrical or mechanical equipment. In most cases, items won’t need to be disassembled because it finds its way into small spaces between parts. Disassembly and reassembly are time consuming so dry-ice blasting can reduce downtime so you can return to business quicker.
Our goal is to put things back together so that it looks and feels like “it never happened.” If you experience fire damage, SERVPRO of Park Cities can dry-ice blast away the damage and remove odors to get you back on track.
